HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 19600628Minutes of the Hoard of Commissioners 185 June 28, 1960 The Orange County Hoard of Commissioners met in adjourned session on Tuesday, June 28, 1960, at 8 o'clock p.c, in the Commissioners room at the courthouse in Hillsboro, N. C. Members present: Chairman R. J. M. Hobbs, Commissioners Clarence Jones, Donald 1cDade, Donald Stanford and Henry Vall<er. Members absent: hone The following budgets were discussed: County Historial duseum, Hyconeechee Regional Library, Veterans Service Officer, Farm Program and Forest Program. This discussion lasted until 10:1;5 p.m. The Accountant then delivered to the Commissioners a copy of the renort prepared by the School Advisory Committee. Chairman Hobbs accepted this report and released copies of same to the press. As the Cammissionsrs had had no opperunity to examine said report at that late hour the report was accepted as information and would be discussed at the first available time. Mr. Joe Hakan was appointed to a five year term on the Greater Chapel Fill Planning Hoard. Permits to have a fireworks display were granted to A.rt Greenbaum and to Bob Boyce. These displays were to be made on July hth at the Patio Drive Inn and Fetzer Field, both in Chapel hill. :>...... :. :.,. As Mr. Raymond Andrews was unable to accept appointment to the County Planning Hoard, Is, Aubrey 9cLennon was suggested as a replacement. Conrissimer Stanford was to personally contact Mr, SLcLennon. A petition for the paving of a road in I,ount Bolus, on the participating proaam, was presented and approved. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned. R. J. K. Hobbs Chairman I S.
