PURPOSE: To consider appointing Commissioner Sally Greene to the North Carolina
Association of County Commissioners' (NCACC) Opioid Litigation Settlement Work Group.
BACKGROUND: The North Carolina Association of County Commissioners has been working
on preparation for litigation and settlement related to opioids. The work group will consist of 5
commissioners, 5 attorneys and 5 managers from counties across North Carolina.
Commissioner Greene was recommended by the NCACC and is willing to serve if appointed by
the Board.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with this item.
SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There is no Orange County Social Justice Goal impact associated
with this item.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: There are no Orange County Environmental Responsibility Goal
impacts associated with this item.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the appointment
of Commissioner Sally Greene to the NCACC Opioid Litigation Settlement Work Group.
