Dear Commissioner Carey :
I am writing to you on behalf of the Orange County Commission for the
Environment . Our mandate is to advise the BOCC on issues affecting the
environment in Orange County .
After considering preliminary information on May 8 regarding the proposed
expansion of the American Stone Quarry for future use as a reservoir, our
members concluded that the environmental impact of this project merits further
study . We therefore solicit your approval to further review the quarry expansion
and to submit recommendations to the BOCC as appropriate .
