July 8, 2019 at 6:30 p.m.

Board Members present: Fred Joiner, Chair; Delia Keefe, Secretary;
Dan Mayer, Linda Williamson, Marcela Slade, Ashley Nissler, Anita
Mills, Bronwyn Merritt, Marlon Torres,
Rachael Despard, Doris Friend, Tim Hoke, Chris Kubica
Board Members absent: Tinka Jordy, Justin Haslett
Staff Present: Katie Murray, Executive Director
I. Fred called the meeting to order at 6:29 p.m.
II. Doris moved, Linda seconded to approve the June, 2019.
Motion approved.
III. Advisory Board Update:
a. Katie stated that articles have been filed in order to pursue
our nonprofit status.
b. Expectations of OCAC board members were discussed,
including the importance of confidentiality.
c. Katie plans to schedule future executive committee meetings
monthly.
IV. Director's Report:
a. The pros and cons of applying for an NEA Our Town Grant
were discussed.
b. Discussions are ongoing for establishing arts space in Eno
Mill. Plans include the support of the county and a
partnership with OCAG.
Another potential arts space is the Chapel Hill Post Office on
Franklin St.
c. The pros and cons of Art on the Hill were discussed. The
event would include installations all over Chapel Hill and
Carrboro. The funding and promotion would be partnered.
V. Committee updates
a. Discussion of Fusion. This would be a collaborative event
that would bring artists together and would promote networking
for artists. It would be well funded. Some artists would be
invited to apply and in addition, a call would be put out to the
general public.
VI. Grants:
a. Review panels have been scheduled
b. 38% of the applicants are first-time applicants
VII. Liaison Reports:
Due to time constraints very brief comments were made.
Fred made a motion to adj ourn the meeting. Dan seconded. Fred
adjourned the meeting at 8 p.m.
