When a vacancy exists, the municipality will be requested to provide to the Board of County Commissioners a resolution with a recommendation for that vacancy;" and WHEREAS, despite multiple recruitment efforts, the County has not received any applications from residents within Chapel Hill's Extraterritorial Jurisdiction or within the Joint Planning Area. Per the Joint Planning Agreement, the positions may be filled with Town residents; and WHEREAS, the Chapel Hill Board of Adjustment has reviewed the viable applications and made a recommendation to the Chapel Hill Town Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council recommends the Orange County Board of Commissioners appoint Thomas Wortman to the County Resident ETJ position and Michael Murphy to the County Alternate ETJ/JPA position on the Chapel Hill Board of Adjustment.
