Features to be added are being finalized, and will include:
Online calendar scheduling
Online billing services
PFAP also has a facebook page under “Piedmont Food & Ag Processing Center”.
Operations Manual review
The Operational Manual is a comprehensive set of documents meant to cover all aspects of operations.
It consists of:
APPX A: User Agreement
APPX B: Application Form
APPX C: Standard Operating Procedures
APPX D: Oversight
APPX E: Fee Structure
APPX F: Operational Standards
APPX G: Support Documents
When finalized, all documents will be posted online, and a copy will be provided to the SC members.
These are living documents and will be updated regularly.
Potential Client applications & selection
Applications are currently being accepted.
Opening clients will be chosen based on their operational ability.
Open use of the facility with limited restrictions will be opened after the initial testing period, based on when applications were submitted on the first come, first served basis.
Scheduling may limit access for some users.
Workshop / class / support development will be based partially on applicants.
Outreach planning
PFAP has a limited budget, but a focused target marketing audience.
Word of mouth, web presence and media are our most affective tools for passive outreach.
Physical outreach, or events, are our best active outreach opportunities.
PFAP has a facebook page for social media outreach, and so far has seen over 200 views.
Our current outreach events and plans are:
Hog Day
PFAP will share a table with Piedmont Grown.
Farm to Fork
PFAP will have a table.
Info mailer / flier
A directional 1/3-sheet flier and a mailer are both being developed with the goal to direct potential interested parties to our website.
Farmer’s Markets
Noah and Matthew will be doing light outreach at farmer’s markets.
Culinary programs / schools
Tours and outreach will be conducted with culinary programs throughout the 4 cooperative agreement counties, with one currently scheduled with ACC.
PFAP Manager has asked that the Steering Committee offer suggestions on possible outreach events, target audiences, and regional opportunities they may be aware of as experts of their
communities.
PFAP Manager identified farms as a difficult and unique outreach target in which he needs advice.
Name Selection
Recent media and outreach has made changing names problematic.
Name Selection ahs been tabled until further notice, with the suggestion by the Manager that it be tabled until PFAP moves to a NPO or similar entity.
Sponsorship Update
With the finalization of an opening timeline, the Sponsorship Program is now ready to be launched by 05/05.
The program will utilize the revised verbiage utilizing a web page, with a mailer that directs to the web site. Email & mail will be the primary contact methods, followed by scheduled
face to face meetings when possible.
