Beginning time of meeting: 6:37 pm
Report of the Chairs:
a. Bryant Warren was introduced as the new PARC member representing Hillsborough.
b. PARC goals – Additional revisions were made and the report for Commissioners was
developed. Both to be completed and ready for a vote in November.
c. Keith Bagby and Denise Dickinson were nominated and unanimously approved as co-chairs for
2012.
d. The 2012 calendar was discussed with alternate meetings at Central Rec, meetings in between
to be held at various sites and no meetings in January and July. To be ready for a vote in
November.
Report of the Director:
a. The National Public Lands Day held at Fairview Park on September 24th was successful with at
least 40 volunteers in attendance.
b. PARC discussed its continued interest in the former library space and voted to draft a letter to
send to the BOCC. The draft will be considered at the November meeting.
c. Lori Reported that discussions with OCS staff are likely to result in an MOU for the use of the
Hillsborough Elementary School Gym.
d. PARC voted unanimously to endorse and co-sponsor the DEAPR photography contest.
Committee Reports:
Friends Group – Denise and Allan will work on the 501c3 application.
Old Business:
Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Master Plan – Staff expects that an RFP or “scope of work
document” will be to distribute to potential consultants in the next week or so. Proposals would be due
back in early November.
