PURPOSE: To receive brief fallow up reports from staff on two inquiries from the Board of
Commissioners.
BACKGROUND: At their regular meeting on March 20, 2001, the BOCC requested that staff
report at the March 29 work session regarding issues involving (1) the Carolina Spring
Apartments (a 124 unit senior affordable housing complex in Carrboro) and (2) a project being
undertaken by the Lake Forest Association to dredge Eastwood Lake in Chapel Hill to reduce
the sedimentation that has collected in this body of water. StafF will provide brief written
updates on these topics at or before the work session, and be available to respond to the
Board's questions.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no direct financial impact associated with the presentation of
the staff reports. Financial implications of each of these two matters will be addressed in the
written reports.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board receive the reports for
information only.
