The Orange County Board oT CormSSaioners met is regular session on Monday, September B, 1959,
at ten o'clock A. M. in the Cocmnisslonera' room at the courthouse in Hillsboro, N. C.
Members present: Chairman R, J. M. Hobbs, Commissioners Clarence Jones, Donald A:c-ade,
Donald Stanford and Henry Ylalker.
Members absent: Nona
The minutes of the previous meetings xere read by the Clerk and approved by the Hoard.
The folloxing Department Officials presented reports for the month of August, 1959:
Frank Frederick, Delinquent Tax Collector
Don Matheson, .Ed Barnes and 0. A. Green, County Agents
Sherman Shelton, Negro Farm Agent
Lucius M. Cheshire, Asat, Clerk oT Court
Sane Parker, 4lelfare Superintendent

Malone Long, Deputy Sheriff
hire. Parker presented the request of r.i itte Riley, vho is an old age recioiont, to se11 txo acres
of her property xhich is new covered by a lien for $125.DD.
Upon motion of Cwmnissiomr ilalker, seconded by Conmdesloaer McDade and unanimously adopted,
Mrs. Riley was given permission to sell. 2 acres of her property.
Upon motion of Commissioner Stanford, seconded by Conwissioner Jones and unanimauslyy adopted,
Joe Ashley, vho had petitioned the Hoard at the August meeting for permission to sell some of his
property, xas authorized to sell 8 acres xhich is located on the north aide of David Road in
Hillsboro Toxnship.
The tollawing road petitions were presented and the Clerk xas requested to mail same oa to the
State Highway Co~mnissian:
1. Roexl located in Hillsboro runs Srom the rata track road in circle and is known sa Harper Road.
2. Hoed located in Hillsboro To•mship runs from highxey 370 to St. Ffary's Road end ie known as
the Creutord Road.
The Accountant xas instructed to contact the local Government Comniesion and start the procedure
necessary for Bale of the Boad Anticipation Notes as contemplated in the 1959-1960 budget.
