ORANGE COUNTY AMENDMENT TO COUNTYWIDE AGENCY
INTERPRETER-TRANSLATOR CONTRACT
NORTH CAROLINA
THIS AMENDMENT to the Countywide Agency Interpreter-Translator Contract, made and entered into this the 26th day
of June, 2019 , by and between the County of Orange, a body politic and corporate of the State of North Carolina, (the
"County"), and Chapel Hill Institute of Cultural and Language Education, LLC (the "Provider");
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, the County and Provider entered into a Countywide Agency Interpreter-Translator Contract dated, July 1,
2018,for interpretation and translation services(hereinafter the"Original Agreement"); and
WHEREAS, the County and Provider desire to amend the Original Agreement, while keeping in effect all terms and
conditions of the Original Agreement not inconsistent with the terms and conditions set forth below.
NOW THEREFORE,for and in consideration for the mutual covenants and agreements made herein,the parties agree to
amend the Original Agreement as follows:
SECTION 4.a.i.: Basic Services: The amount to be paid by the County shall not exceed Forty Five Thousand Dollars
($45,000), to be paid at the rate of $0.18 cents for translations for Roman alphabet and $ 0.22 for not Roman
languages, $55 for consecutive,$70 for simultaneous per/hour for Interpretation Services. Payment shall be made
within thirty (30) days of an invoice properly submitted to County. Should Provider fail to perform its duties under
the terms of this Agreement, County may, without fault or penalty, withhold any payment associated with the
work to be performed until such time as said work is completed.
Except for the changes made to Section 4.a.i. herein, the Original Agreement shall remain in full force and effect to the
extent it is not inconsistent with this Amendment. In the event that there is a conflict between the Original Agreement
and this Amendment,this Amendment shall control.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, Orange County and the Provider have signed this Amendment, effective as of the day first
written above.
