Scope A. Provide design and engineering services for the incorporation of sustainability features into the EAC and Parks Operations Base as approved during the February 5, 2019 BOCC meeting. 1. Features for EAC: a. 50 kW photovoltaic (PV) array, roof-mounted, ballasted type system. 1. Design assumes PV array is a string inverter system. It is understood that any panels that will not fit on the Parks Base will be re- budgeted/reallocated to the EAC as it is the more economical facility for the system. Our engineers have redesigned the HVAC system to an all- electric variable air volume (VAV) following schematic design due to the rooftop PV system. b. Solar Hot Water System 1. Electrical and plumbing engineering work required for tank system. A. Will be incorporated near spaces with largest hot water demands (e.g. kitchen). 2. Structural engineers required to recalculate/resize increased deadload in the steel framing. 2. Features for Parks Operations Base: a. 50 kW photovoltaic (PV) array similar to the EAC system. Coordination and design efforts related to the Owner’s pursuit of Duke Energy’s Non- Residential Smart Saver Custom Incentives program, specifically as it relates to interfacing with Duke Energy’s representative, The Weidt Group (TWG). 1. It is understood that TWG will perform and handle all of the Duke Energy requirements for this program, and that our engineers will simply: a. Attend up to 2 meetings with TWG to discuss the project scope b. Provide otherwise routine project information to TWG as a means of assistance. 2. While minor design changes are anticipated resulting from the Owner’s pursuit of this Duke Energy program, it is understood that significant design changes are not anticipated and are therefore not included in this proposal. C. Accelerate design schedule in order to coordinate with the revised preconstruction schedule for the full Northern Campus project. D. Reconcile design services with the increased project budget, including additional site design. 1. Pursuant to BOCC motion from the February 5, 2019 BOCC meeting, the Northern Campus project budget has been increased in an amendment as prepared by and under direction of County staff. 2. The construction budget for the EAC and Park Operations Facility increased from $4,596,000 to $6,423,576 (increase of $1,827,576). 3. Our original basic design fee for the EAC and Park Operations Facility was tied to the $4,596,000 construction budget. 4. Included in the fee detailed below is a reconciliation of our basic design fee to the increased construction budget of $6,423,576. 2. Consultants A.
