Benedict, ext. 2592 TELEPHONE NUMBERS: Hillsborough 732-8181 Chapel Hill .968-4501 Durham 688-7331 Mebane (336)227-2031 PURPOSE: To briefly discuss which planning goals can be prioritized and accomplished in the short term. BACKGROUND: At least since 1999, there has been a full course of planning goals. Due to sequencing, problem solving, interrelated issues, prioritizing, and limited time and personnel resources, only a minor portion could be accomplished. Even though these successes are numerous a prioritization and brief reassessment is necessary for the planning director to focus his energies and resources on the most important goals and projects. The priority list is attached for review. FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is potential fiscal impact if consultants or extra permanent, temporary, or intern personnel are required. RECOMMENDATION(S): To be discussed at the meeting. 2 PLANNING DIRECTOR PROJECT/ACTIVITIES Intergovernmental Coordination Hillsborough Mebane Durham Chapel Hill Carrboro Regulations (In Process) School APFO, Sustainability Regulations (In Implementation Phase) Neuse River Rules Studies Efland/Buckhorn Orange-Alamance Development Fee Study Upper Eno Student Generation Rates and School Impact Fees Task Forces Affordable Housing BOCC Land Use Task Force BOCC Open Space Task Force Projects Quarry/Reservoir Orange County-Hillsborough PUD Building Renovations Orange County and Chapel Hill/Carrboro School Sites 2001 Bond Census 2000 Data Assessment PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY 1.
