PURPOSE: To consider two changes in the County Commissioners' regular meeting calendar
for year 2001.
BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County
Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in
the Regular Meeting Schedule. The meeting scheduled for January 29, 2001 was for the
purpose of receiving the Shaping Orange County's Future report. This report will not be ready
by that time. The meeting will be held for a Board of County Commissioners work session. The
meeting scheduled for February 6 will be moved to February 7.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: NONE
RECOMMENDATION (S): The Manager recommends that the Board amend their regular
meeting calendar by changing the purpose for the January 29, 2001 meeting to a regular
BOCC work session and changing the date for the first regular meeting in February to February
7, 2001.
