PURPOSE: To consider making one new appointment to the Orange County/chapel Hill
Visitor's Bureau.
BACKGROUND: There is one vacancy on the Orange County/Chapel Hill Visitor's Bureau. It is
an Orange County Lodging Association position, The Clerk's Office has received a letter of
recommendation for Mr, Creston Woods, from Mark Sherburne, who is a member of the
Visitor's Bureau and a member of the Lodging Association. If appointed, Mr, Woods would be
serving a partial term, which would end 12/31/2006.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None,
RECOMMENDATION(S): Consider making a new appointment to the Orange County/Chapel Hill
Visitor's Bureau as the Board may desire.

As a current member of the CHOCVB Boaz'd and member of the Orange County Lodging
Association, I would like to formally officially nominate Mr. Creston Woods, General
Manager of the Cazolina hm, to be re-appointed to the Board of Directors for the Chapel
Hill/ Orange County Visitors Bureau.
Mr. Woods has been a member of the CHOCVB Board in the past and according to the
by-laws, is eligible to be placed on this Boazd again in .Tanuary 2005. Mr, Woods would
be filling the Orange County Lodging Association representative position term that was
recently vacated by Mr'. Lawrence Walters of the Sheraton Chapel Hill due to Mr.
Lawrence's transfer to Florida.
Mr. Wood's prior and continued efforts on behalf of this Board and his many other
associations make him a key placement,
