There are three At-Large positions and one Nursing Home Administration position. A letter informing all County nursing homes of this vacancy was sent on August 2, 2004. The NHCAC has recommended three applicants, Mr, Barry Hawes, Ms. Florence Soltys and Ms, Sue Waters, for the At-Large positions, Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee Pos. If the adult care home administrators fail to make a nomination within 45 days after written notification has been sent to them requesting a nomination, these appointments may be made without nominations." The County is responsible for maintaining the intent of the residents' Bill of Rights, promoting community involvement in the homes and providing public education on long-term caze issues. The members visit each county nursing home quarterly and file a report on that visit with the Regional Ombudsman for the Triangle J Area Agency on Aging. You have met some or all of the members during these visits. The Committee currently has 12 seats with 4 of them representing the Administration of the Nursing Homes.
