The Bonrd of Orange County Commissioners net on ldonday, Liny 5, 1958, at 10 o'clock A. Lf, in the
Commissionnrs' Roam at the Courthouse Sn Hillsboro, North Carolina.

Edembers absent: None.
The minutes of the Aoril meeting were rend by the Clerk and approved by the Honrd.
The following Departaent Offic fain presented reports for the month of Aoril, 1955:
Frank Efaddry - De]inquent Tnx Collector,
Jane Parker - C7e7Saro Superintendent;
Cyrus Green - Assistmt County Farm Agent;
Walter Wrenn - Veterona' Service Officer; and
E. W. Lynch - Clerk Superior Court.
Etrs. Grnca Sutarius reque eted that the county license fee for an emoloyment agency which she
plans to open in Chapel Hill, be reduced. No action was taken on this request.
The Health Dopartu~nt budget for the yoar 1958-1959 was vre eented by Dr. 0. David Cervin, District
Health Officer.
The Hoard of Education presented the school budget for the year of 1958-1959.
Upon motion oT Commissioaor Stanford, seconded by Commissionor LfeD¢de, the following resolution
was unanimously ¢d opted for the transfer of funds to the School Debt Service LYom the School Hui]ding
Fund:
"In order to meet interest oeymenta on the Series H portion of Orange County School Bonds of 1956
falling due on June 1, 1955, for which no funds were budgeted, the Accountant i¢ directed to:
1. Inks the accrued interest on these hands f7om the School Debt Service Fund amounting
to $9,618.05;
2. Tnka the interest Darned on the $46,000.00 invested in Euilding a~ Loan Associations
of $536.65;
3• Take the inters st to be earned as of June 30, 1958 on the fords mentioned in Section 2
above of $855.00;
4• T¢ka from the unnllxnted premlwo earned on the ss Seriee B Honda of $571,50, the sum
of $302.80;
5. Withdraw from the First federal Savings and Loan Association in Durham, N. C., $6,000.00
on certificates there.
These items constitute $17,37.2.50. The Accountant shall remit them, along with other item
i:debtedne es, to the proper payee during the month of Juno, In order to secure the maximum interest
on Nnds invested in Building and Loan Associations, the Accountant shall not withdraw the 56,000.00
certificate IYOm the Fiz•st Federal Savings and Lo¢n Association until Ju]y 1, 1958, and a temporary
werdr¢ft of the School Debt Servico budget is hereby authorized."

S. id. Gatos, County Accountant, wne authorized to purchn se gravel to be used on the new addition
to the Courthouse parking lot. Funds to pay for the cost of the o¢rking lot ere to be taken from the
Emergency Fund.

the Welfare Departaeat concerning Aid tq H7ind Grants, which will re4uire an iave stigatioa of the

to contribute to the support of the 37ind Aid Recipient, according to Borth Carolina General Statute

Upon motion of Commissioner Welker, seconded by Co:maissioner Pny, the above nalicy was unnnimausly
apprwed.
