PURPOSE: To consider making reappointments to the Board of Health,
BACKGROUND: The terms of Ms, Christina Harlan and Dr. Sharon Van Horn will end
6/30/2005, They wish to be reappointed and they are eligible.
The Board of Health is recommending Ms. Harlan and Dr, Van Horn for reappointment to the
Board of Health, If reappointed, Ms. Harlan would be serving a first full term and Dr. Van Horn
would be serving a second term, both ending 6/30/2008
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION(S): Consider making reappointments to the Board of Health, as the Board may
desire.

Re: Recommendation for Reappointment
At its meeting on April 28, 2005 the Board considered the positions up for
reappointment and voted to forward the following recommendations for your
consideration,
Chris Harlan, nurse, has served a partial term of less than two years, so this would be
her first full three-year term. The Board is recommending that Chris Harlan be
reappointed to her first three-year term.
Dr. Sharon Van Horn, at-large, is eligible to serve her final three-year term, The Board
is recommending that she be reappointed to her second three-year term,
Dr. Kate Wilder, veterinarian, has withdrawn from consideration for a second term due
to personal commitments, The Board will pursue recruitment for this position, We
would expect to have a recommendation by the end of June or July,
Attached are copies of Board attendance records for 2003 - 2005.
The Board also considered applicants for the Pharmacist position, Candace Kelly and
James Stefanadis. Mr. Stefanadis is a practicing pharmacist of a large outpatient
pharmacy and has good community experience. The Board feels he would bring
expertise In his field to the Board of Health. The Board was unanimous in their
recommendation of Mr, Stefanadis for the position of Pharmacist representative,
