RE: Agenda Item for the Joint Meeting on September 15

The Orange County Board of Education met on August 26, 1999 for a work session that
included a discussion about agenda items for our joint meeting with the Commissioners.
Our Board has several items they would like to share with the Commissioners, but would
rather have these discussions in a separate meeting involving just the Commissioners.
We find the joint meeting of the three Boards beneficial, but we feel additional time is
needed to cover our concerns. Therefore, we are officially requesting a separate meeting
with the Commissioners before the end of November if at all possible.
The Board requests that we have a general conversation about the Budget Process
focused on funding for opening our new elementary school during the September 15
meeting.
Please let me reiterate that the Board has several items they want to discuss with the
Commissioners, but would rather do this in a separate meeting.
