MEMBERS PRESENT Louise Echols, Co -chair (at- large); Lynette Jeffries (Cooperative Extension Service); Rosetta Moore (substituting for Dee Gamble - Department of Social Services); Rebecca A. Young (at- large). MEMBERS LATE: Donald David Thompson, Jr (at- large) MEMBERS ABSENT Marvin Block (Advisory Board on Aging - excused); Dee Gamble (excused); Mel Hurston (Board of Health - excused); Barry Jacobs (BOCC - excused); Deborah Linn Kinert (at -large - excused); Sue Russell (Partnership for Young Children - excused); Cathleen Q. Trask (Communities -In- Schools - excused); Rosetta Wash (at- large - excused) STAFF PRESENT Nancy C. Martin, Assistant to the Clerk; Corinthia Barber, Assistant to Albert Kittrell STAFF ABSENT Albert Kittrell, Assistant County Manager WELCOME AND MEMBER UPDATE: The members introduced themselves and gave updates on their department's activities. MINUTES - The minutes of February 21, 2000 were approved as read. REVIEW OF APPLICATIONS FOR FUNDING FROM NON - PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS Co -Chair Echols and Ms. Corinthia Barber explained that this activity will occur at the April meeting. Members will break out into small groups and each group will review several applications. Members may not review applications from organizations with which they are affiliated. The members who were present listed their non - profit affiliations on a handout from the Assistant County Manager's office. The absent members will be polled for their affiliations. COMMUNITY CARE MODELS Donnie Philips, Chief Court Counselor, Orange and Chatham Counties - This was postponed to a later meeting. TOPIC FOR FORUM 2000 Discussion ensued. Topics and ideas put forth were: ♦ Mental Health ♦ Support for Families Who Have Been Adversely Impacted by Mental Health Issues ♦ Affordable Housing ♦ Producing a Forum to Encompass All of These Ideas ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Nancy C.
