The Hoard of Commiasionere of Orange County met in the Courtroom of the Courthouse w Prldgy,
Jv?<y 5th, 1957, at 7:30 oiclock P. 61.
Elembers present: Chairman R. J. ID. Hobbs and Cwmissionera Claud T. Pape, D. it. Ray, Donald
Stanford and Henry S, flalkar.

Upon motion of C®.i.ssioner flniker, duly seconded and passed, the Accouotant was directed to
investigate the possibilities of Snvosting the $46,100.00 surplus in Sehool Debt Service Punle in
U. S. Government Securities.
The Hwrd then moved to a diacussloa of the County Midget. After much discussion, it was agreed
to set the County School Units Current Expen~ Midget at $106,000.00 nod to make n par capita ddetri-
butiw of tho Capital Outlay Appropriatlw.
Commissioner Any then moved that the 1957 tax rata be set at $ .72 slid the per capita allotment
for Capital Outlay Tor the County School Uait be $104,734.00 and far the Chapel A1ll Unit be $SB,Hll.OD.

possible effects wsa held. Chairman Aobba then called for n vote and 5 eyes and 0 goes ware recorded.
The Accountant was then direoted to prepaxre the budget as approved by the Hoard affi £ila it with the
Clerk to the Hoard Tor inspectiw. The Hoard eat Llordnv, July 29th, at 7:30 P. 61. in the courtroom of
the Courthwse in Hillsboro as the time and place Tor final approval of the 1957-1955 budget and
ndoptiw of the 1957 tnz rate.
