Welcome /Introduction
Patsy Barbee, Chair, called the meeting to order at 6: 09 p.m. The board introduced themselves. Ms.
Barbee introduced Bonnie Hammersley, County Manager. Ms. Hammersley shared with the board
that the Housing Director, Audrey Spencer - Horsley has resigned and that Annette Moore from the
County Attorney's office will be the Interim Director for Orange County Housing, Human Rights and
Community Development. Ms. Hammersley thanked the board for the work that they do.
Approval of Minutes
The minutes were tabled until the next meeting due to the lack of a quorum.
Department Report /County Report
Annette Moore shared that the deadline for the RFP is February 20, 2017. There will be two RFP's. The
first one is for the $2.5 million bond money. The second one is for the eight (8) county owned parcels
and the two (2) parcels owned by the housing authority that will be developed for affordable housing.
Other Business
Annette Moore shared with the AHAB board that the Pauli Murray awards will be March 12, 2017. She
will give them more information about the time and location.
Corey Root gave an update on the Partnership to End Homelessness. They are concluding the system
mapping. There will be two outcomes from that process. A lot of the input was received from
providers and talking to people on how individuals are moved through the system and what is needed.
There will be a map of all of the homeless service providers. Ms. Root stated that one of the gaps is
affordable units. She stated that the main focus of their work is trying to increase coordination and
systemize how people are accessing human services; as well as how they are assessed for program
referrals and how they work.
The board .discussed the ten (10) parcels that will be used for affordable housing. Most of the parcels
already have water and sewer.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:39 p.m.
