PURPOSE: Consider making one new appointment to the Hillsborough Board of Adjustment.
BACKGROUND: There is one County vacancy on the Hillsborough Board of Adjustment. The
Clerk's office has received a resolution from the Town of Hillsborough requesting the
appointment of Tommy Sikes, The resolution was received in the Clerk's Office on February
15, 2005, and the Board of County Commissioners must appoint to this seat within 90 days
time, or Hillsborough Town Board may make this appointment.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None..
RECOMMENDATION(S): Consider making one new appointment to the Hillsborough Board of
Adjustment, as the Board may desire.

RESOLUTION REQUSSTINO AN APPODVTMENT
TO AN EXTRATHRRTfORIAL JiJRISDICTION SEAT
ON THE HILISBOROUGH BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
WHEREAS, as a result of the end of a terra, it is necessary to appoint a person to a seat reserved on the
Hillsborough Hoard of Adjustment for persons residing within the town's oxtrntmritorial planning
juriedicNon; and
WHEREAS, bq state statute and town ordinance, the Orange County Boatel of Commissioners initially
has the authority and responsibility to appoint fiTJ members to the town's Board.of Adjustment,.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE TOWN OF HILI.SBOROLJGH
RESOLVES:
Section I The Orange County Board of Commissioners ie respectfully requested to appoint
the following individual to a full term as an ETJ alternate member on the Hillsborough Board of
Adjustment, The term would expire in Match 30, 2004:

Section 2. If the Orange County Board of Comtnissianers fails to appoint persona willing to
serve in the capacity described above within 90 days after receiving this resolution, then tlu Hillsborough
Town Boazd may make this appointment,
Section .3, The Town Clerk shall send a copy df this resolution W the Orange County
Manager.
Section 4 This resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote received the following vote and was duly
adopted this 14's day of February, 2005.
