HomeMy WebLinkAboutOUTBoard minutes 0722091 SUMMARY NOTES 1 ORANGE UNIFIED TRANSPORTATION TRAINING SESSION 2 JULY 22, 2009 3 4 MEMBERS PRESENT: Sam Lasris (Chair), Cedar Grove Township; Nancy Cole Baker (Vice-Chair), Pedestrian Access 5 Advocate; Mary Bobbitt-Cooke, Planning Board Representative; Julian (Randy) Marshall, Bingham Township; Karen 6 Barrows, Little River Township; Leo Allison, Cheeks Township Representative; Jeff Charles, Bicycle Transportation 7 Advocate; Amy Cole, Transit Advocate 8 9 STAFF PRESENT: Karen Lincoln, Transportation Planner; Tina Love, Administrative Assistant II 10 11 OTHERS PRESENT: Tommy McNeill, Planning Board Member 12 13 Training Topics 14 15 Karen Lincoln gave a background on the need and subsequent formation of the Orange County Unified 16 Transportation Board as established by the Board of County Commissioners in 2006. She covered the federal 17 transportation funding and the Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPO), Rural Planning Organization (RPO), state 18 implementation plans, Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), (Unified) Planning Work, (UPWP), Transportation 19 Improvement Program (TIP), and regional organizations including the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro (DCHC) and 20 Triangle Area Rural Planning Organization (TARPO). 21 22 She reviewed maps and took questions. She continued with explanations on priority lists, Transportation 23 Enhancements (TE), Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ), division managed programs, and American 24 Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
