PURPOSE: To consider two changes in the County Commissioners' regular meeting calendar
for the year 2005.
BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County
Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in
the Regular Meeting Schedule.
The Board of County Commissioners will consider amending their regular meeting schedule by
changing the locations of the two Budget Public Hearings: the May 315` Budget Public hearing
would change to Southern Human Services Center (it was previously scheduled for
Hillsborough) and the .June 2"d Budget Public Hearing would be changed to the F, Gordan
Battle Courtroom in Hillsborough, North Carolina (this was previously scheduled for Chapel Hill
and would have conflicted with a CHCCS Board Meeting).
The Board of County Commissioners will also consider amending their regular meeting
schedule by adding a dinner meeting on Monday, February 28, 2005 at 5:30 p,m, at the
Government Services Center (prior to the 7:30 p,m. OPH at F. Gordon Battle Courtroom in
Hillsborough, North Carolina,) The purpose of this meeting will be for the Board of
Commissioners to receive a report from the Educational Excellence Work Group.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: NONE
RECOMMENDATION (S): The Manager recommends that the Board amend their regular
meeting calendar changing the locations of the two Budget Public Hearings: the May 315`
Budget Public hearing would change tc Southern Human Services Center (it was previously
scheduled for Hillsborough) and the June 2"d Budget Public Hearing would be changed to the F,
Gordon Battle Courtroom in Hillsborough, North Carolina (this was previously scheduled for
Chapel Hill),
