PURPOSE: To consider making one new appointment to the Orange County/ Chapel Hill Visitor's
Bureau.
BACKGROUND: There is one vacant Hillsborough Chamber of Commerce position. The
Clerk's Office has received a recommendation from the Hillsborough Chamber of Commerce for
Rachel Hawkins. If appointed Ms. Hawkins would be serving a partial term, which will end on
December 31, 2005.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION(S): Consider making one appointment to the Orange County/ Chapel Hill
Visitor's Bureau, as the Board may desire.

Hawkins as its representative to the Board of Directors of the Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors
Bureau. Ms Hawkins is a lifelong resident of Orange County and has a !teen interest in increasing
the number of visitors to Orange County. Her knowledge of die history= of Hillsborough and
Orange County will serve the CHOCVB and the Chamber very well
