Call to Order
The meeting was called to order Jim Kitchen, Chair.
Approval of Minutes
Minutes from the May 16, 2017 meeting were approved by consensus.
Old Business
• S.W.O.T. Analysis: Summary of Final Report on Economic Development Districts
– Joe Hines and Blake Hall, Timmons Group
o The consultants from the Timmons Group shared the presentation and report and discussed
the finding with the Advisory Board and staff
o The consultant took recommendation from the Advisory Board and staff
o The next step is to discuss with the County Commissioners on January 23, 2018 at their
annual retreat
New Business
• Proposed outline for the 2018 Orange County Economic Summit and Role of Advisory Board Members
– Steve Brantley
o The format for the summit was discussed and how it differs from the Chapel Hill Chamber’s
annual event and what it should include.
o An Advisory Board subcommittee was suggested. The committee will include:
Steve Brantley, Jim Kitchen, Anthony Carey, Paige Zinn, D.R. Bryan
