Upon motion of Commissioner Lanier, seconded by Commissioner C4elker and unanimously
massed, it yes ordered that btr, Liaddry~s travel expense be put on e 90-day trial basis
and if it proves to be satisfect pry, he be granted the same elloerance as that of the
Deputies Sheriff.
Mr, Alex 'dcLtahon presented to the 3oa rd the contract which had boen drayn and
', agreed upon between the Toem of Chanel riill and the Greater Che pal Hi11 Pire District.
This cunt rect Tres also to be signed by Orange County.
I. Upon motion of Commissioner Lenie r, the follov8ng resolution was adopted:

Be it Resolved by the Hoard of County Commissioners of Orange County: '
Section 1. That the Hoard does hereby exn rasa Lts approval of a proposed contract
between the Tovrn of Chapel X.111 and the Greater Chanel Hill Fire
Protection District Commissioa, under which the Tovm shall provide
Tire protection to the or oner ty of the District and the ~ .10 tax ',
heretofore lev led end he rsinafter tobe levied on property in the
Dis tr let shell be paid over to the Town.
Section 2. Th et the Chairman of the Board and the Clerk to the Hoe r3 ere hereby
eut horized to execute the pro oose3 contract attached hers to, for and
in behalf of Orange County, when such contract 1s presented to them
in final form end after 1t has bean execu tad by both the Town end the
Greeter Cheoel H111 Fire Pro tectl on District Commission.

The Board agreed to inspect both of the above described roads on their next road ~~
inspection tour.
Upon motion of Commissioner Eflen d, seconded by Commissioner Ray and unanimously
passed, hie. Sam Gattis was author^ized to refun3 a2G .00 to lAr, l7. C. George, Sox 1020,
Cheoel Hill, N. C „ for taxes charged to him through error. ~
Upon motion of CoRmissi oner Efland, seconded by Commissioner Len ie r, the Poll owing
resolution eras unanimously pe sae d:
"HE IT RESGLVHD HY THE BGARD OF CCMh(ISSI ONERS FOR THE COWTY OF ORANGE:
That the County Accountant is hereby authorized and directed to
transfer the assets of the fiscal year 1955-56 Salary Fund to the fiscal
year 1956-57 General County Fund."
