Minutes of Tuesday, March 11, 2014

Members Absent: James Stroud, Jonzella Bailey- Pridham, Britney Walden, Sully Jaffer, and
Andrew Shannon

Welcome /Introduction
Board Chair, Patsy Barbee called meeting to order.
Approval of Minutes
Diane Beecham made a motion to approve the minutes of the February 11, 2014 meeting and
Nannie Richmond seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously.
Non - Departmental Applications Review
AHAB reviewed six non - departmental applications. Using the FY 2014 -15 Orange County
Outside Agency Application Scorecard for five of the returning applicants and the FY 2014 -15
Orange County Outside Agency Resealed Application Scorecard ( For New Programs Only) for
the one new applicant the applications were given a sub score, a total score and comments. These
scorecards were summited to the BOCC for them to consider when deliberating the grant amount
to award.
Department Report
AHAB members decided against advertising on a billboard.
A reminder was given about the County Expo that would be held on April 4 at University Mall
and that there would be a fair housing table.
Other Business
Arthur Sprinczeles shared that the Rotary Club was sponsoring a "Pancake Sale" and that the
proceeds would be going to scholarships for orange county students.
Term expiration dates were discussed and it was determined that only Nannie Richmond's
number of terms needed to be verified.
A Tinned Woods update was shared informing the group that progress is slow and the moving
time had been extended.
The next meeting will be in Hillsborough at 300 W. Tryon Street in the Department Conference
Room.
Nannie Richmond moved to adjourn and Tammy Jacobs seconded the motion and the meeting
was adjourned.
