L Call To Order
Chair Monica Richard called the meeting to order at 6:15p.m.
II. Introductions
Monica Richard introduced the guest presenters, Stephanie Perry and Wanda Hunter.
III. Presentation: Campaign for Racial Equity in Chapel Hill - Carrboro City Schools
Wanda Hunter and Stephanie Perry from the Campaign for Racial Equity in Chapel Hill-
Carrboro City Schools made a presentation on the inequitable treatment of students in the school
system. Information presented included the disproportionate execution of in- school and out of
school suspensions for African American and Hispanic students. It was stated that this
disproportionate punishment may parallel the educational achievement gap. A copy of the
Campaign's report and talking points are attached.
IV. Minutes Approval
Rollin made a motion to accept the Minutes for the January 2016 Minutes. Scott Goldsmith
seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Monica made a motion to accept the February
2016 Minutes. Rollin seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
V. County Updates
James Davis provided a handout which detailed the County update.

VII. Other Business /Announcements
The members made presentations to outgoing Chair, Gerald Ponder, and outgoing staff, James
Davis.
