Action Item: November 2015 Minutes approved. Topic B Discussion Point: Director's Report Decision/Vote(s): Commissioner Earl McGee was re-elected Chair and Commissioner Mark Dorosin was elected Vice Chair of the Board of County Commissioners for calendar year 2016. Meg McGurk (Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership)wants to partner again on another"Artist&Venue Matchmaking"Artists' Salon on February 19, 2016. An alternate light source was found by Asset Management for the Whitted Building art exhibit space. 12-18 lights are needed with and installation price of approximately$10,000 for this project.Triangle Visual Artists are still interested and mid-late January will be the tentative date for their art exhibit in this space. OCAC's website was hacked, but the malicious code has been removed and increased security has been put into place by our website designer on his server. OCAC Chair Tim Hoke is available to attend the BOCC's February 9, 2016 Work Session on Annual Reports and Work Plans. Copies of the newest version (amended 3/3/15) of the Orange County Advisory Board Policies were distributed. An acknowledgement listing of Orange County's participating nonprofit arts and culture organizations from the previous AFTA arts economic survey was distributed. It is included in the pdf of the final report for Arts& Economic Prosperity IV on the OCAC's website under the "Arts Economic Impact" dropdown. Action Item: The third draft of the 2015 OCAC Annual Report and Work Plan for the BOCC was approved. Topic C Discussion Point: CHOCVB Liaison,Ad Hoc Committee Updates Decision/Vote(s): Debb Hepp gave the Marketing Committee Report.The Visitors Bureau's meeting was held at FRANK Gallery. FRANK Gallery is working to match a challenge gift of$50,000.The Siena and the Residence Inn are committed to showing local art; some art presence at RDU. Debb Hepp has compiled a draft list of stakeholders that could be interviewed for the Sheer Associates survey.Joy Salyers suggested the list be expanded to more than just stakeholders—maybe look outside the system. Debb will share concerns with Sheer and Associates. Kim Roberts will submit her final review of OCAC social media campaign at the January 281h meeting of the Marketing Committee and will cc.Tim Hoke on this proposal. The Marketing Committee will not meet in December, 2015 and will begin meeting on the 3rd Thursday of the month beginning in February, 2016. Action Item: A motion was made and approved to hire Sheer&Associates to conduct our market research project. Topic D Discussion Point: Review of Volunteer Applicants Decision/Vote(s): 2 new Volunteer Applicants were discussed. Action Item: The name of Volunteer Applicant Jen Rogers will be submitted for possible appointment. Topic E Discussion Point: Increased 2016 Grassroots Allocation Decision/Vote(s): Discussion ensued about how this additional $2,010 might be spent. Action Item: A motion was made and approved to add this$2,010 to FRANK Gallery's Spring 2015 award. Topic F Discussion Point: Advocacy Updates Decision/Vote(s): Ashley Nissler spoke to our state legislator Rep. Graig R. Meyer and he is very supportive of the arts. Action Item: None Topic G Discussion Point: Agenda Additions/Old Business/New Business Decision/Vote(s): Chair Tim Hoke would like this board to think about New Year's resolutions for the Arts Commission and about how to improve our outreach. He'd like board members to bring them to the January 2016 meeting.Tim Hoke mentioned that board members should attend some of the events that we help fund. (Kim Roberts has attached a calendar of events of those grant recipient whose grants were approved and some of the dates when their events will occur in 2016.) Action Item: None Topic H Discussion Point: Calendar Decision/Vote(s): Hillsborough Arts Council is sponsoring a Lantern Celebration at 5 pm on December 20, 2015 at the Riverwalk in Hillsborough.The next OCAC board meeting will be on Monday,January 11, 2016 from 6:30-7:30 pm in Meeting Room 2-3 at the Century Center(100 N. Greensboro Street) in Carrboro. Action Item: None Topic I Discussion Point: CLOSED SESSION—Fall 2015 Arts Grant Allocation Decision/Vote(s): 30 grant applications were reviewed by the Orange County Arts Commission. Action Item: $28,540 in county funds was awarded.
