Board of Aging Updates, Yvonne Mendenhall • LTC Learning Collaborative is working on LTC Initiative with programs /agencies (Livewell was the only ALF). NH CAC met with them to increase outreach to facilities that they visit, to increase positive interactions. The initiative now wants to extend this program to all and encourages us to participate by sharing Smile Surprises with caregivers, residents, and others to express thanks, recognition, gratitude, kindness. • Yvonne passed out samples of the Smile Surprises that they have created. Our committee expressed interest in participating as well and are willing to help put the packages together and take them to our facilities. • Ideas for future — (1) fundraising, (2) having residents help put these together. Activities directors seem to like the idea and have been very receptive. • We discussed possible conflicts and concluded there is no conflict in bringing little gifts of kindness — even on site visits • Cheri Roseman of the LTC Learning Collaborative coming to our January meeting.
