PURPOSE: To consider making one BOCC appointment to the Rural Transportation Advisory Board.
BACKGROUND: On June 27, 2006 the BOCC approved Commissioner Gordon to represent
the Board at the Rural Transportation Advisory Board for the Triangle Area Rural Transportation
Organization. Her term will end June 30, 2008. Previously, Commissioner Jacobs represented
Orange County on the RTAB-RTO, and his term ended June 30, 2006.
The Board is also being asked to select an alternate. The new appointee will be serving atwo-
yearterm, ending June 30, 2008. The RTAC meets every other month in Sanford.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION(S): Consider making one BOCC appointment for an alternate to the Rural
Transportation Advisory Board.
