PURPOSE: To consider making appointments to the Orange County Board of Adjustment,.
BACKGROUND: There are 2 vacancies on the Board of Adjustment. Also the terms of Karen
Barrows and Sharlene Pilkey expired on 6/30/2006, they are ineligible for reappointment.
It is important to note that the Board of Adjustment needs to have a full board, to ensure that a
quorum is present at all monthly meetings.

OTHER COMMENTS: Even though I don't have formal legal training, I am aware of and
have a good understanding of the legal aspects of BOA activities. During my previous
work with the board, I always tried to act in a logical, balanced, and consistent manner in
order to be fair to applicants and citizens, but also to minimize potential for legal
challenges that would consume County resources and expose the County to
