SUBJECT: Changes in BOCC Regular Meeting Schedule for 2017

PURPOSE: To consider changes to the County Commissioners' regular meeting calendar for
2017.
BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County
Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in
the Regular Meeting Schedule:
• Move the Quarterly Public Hearing (originally scheduled for Monday, November
20, 2017 at the Whitted Building) to Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 7:00pm at the
Whitted Building, 300 West Tryon St. in Hillsborough, N.0
AND
• Move the Regular Meeting (originally scheduled for Tuesday, November 14, 2017
at the Southern Human Services Center) to Monday, November 20, 2017 at
7:00pm at the Southern Human Services Center, 2501 Homestead Road in
Chapel Hill, N.C.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact to Orange County associated with this item.
SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There are no Orange County Social Justice Goals applicable to
this item.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board amend its regular meeting
calendar for 2017:
• Move the Quarterly Public Hearing (originally scheduled for Monday, November
20, 2017 at the Whitted Building) to Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 7:00pm at the
Whitted Building, 300 West Tryon St. in Hillsborough, N.0
AND
• Move the Regular Meeting (originally scheduled for Tuesday, November 14, 2017
at the Southern Human Services Center) to Monday, November 20, 2017 at
7:00pm at the Southern Human Services Center, 2501 Homestead Road in
Chapel Hill, N.C.
