PURPOSE: To consider making one new appointment to the Orange Water and Sewer Authority
Board.
BACKGROUND: The Board of Commissioners appoints two members to the Orange Water and
Sewer Authority Board. The OWASA board is responsible for establishing operating policies on a range
of issues including billing, budgeting, personnel, purchasing, rates, reimbursement agreements, and
water and sewer extensions. It also reviews and approves general system development.
The term of Mark Marcopios, a county appointee, will end 6/30/2006. He has served 2 full terms and is
ineligible for reappointment. Any new appointee would be serving a first full term, which will end
6/30/2009.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION(S): Consider making a new appointment to the Orange Water and Sewer
Authority Board.
