The petitions and responses are listed below: 1) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Price that the County become involved in helping to solve the accessibility/transportation needs and problems for program participants for Boomerang and Volunteers for Youth. Response: Staff to contact Boomerang and Volunteers for Youth to discuss needs and possibilities. 2) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Price that the County pursue efforts to help Boomerang secure a location for services in Hillsborough in conjunction with Orange County Schools and the soon to be acquired Meadowlands property. Response: Travis to contact Boomerang and also discuss space possibilities with Orange County Schools. 3) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Price that staff provide an update on the status of the Efland Village. Response: Staff to draft Information Item to update the Board. 4) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Price that staff follow up on the previous petition by Commissioner Marcoplos that the planners and others convene to establish a more stream-lined permitting/land development/inspections process. Response: Manager's Office to provide recommendation. 5) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Price that staff inform the Board on the opportunity for advisory boards' representatives, and specifically the Northern Transition Area Advisory Committee, to make their annual reports to the BOCC, and if staff has had any discussion with Carrboro economic development opportunities along Hwy 86. Response: Advisory Boards including the NTAAC will have the opportunity to address BOCC at March 28, 2017 Board work session. 6) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Rich that the Board discuss at an upcoming work session revising the Regular Meeting Order of Business to move Board Comments to near the beginning of the meeting and/or combine with Announcements/Petitions by Board members. Response: To be discussed as part of Policies and Procedures discussion at Spring 2017 work session. 6) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Marcoplos that staff investigate opportunities for funding to provide new forklift in warehouse/storage area at Emergency Services Meadowlands facility. Response: Staff is investigating options for forklift. 7) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Marcoplos that the Board consider sending a focused resolution with dollar loss amounts, etc. to the N.C. General Assembly regarding the impact of House Bill 2. Response: Clerk to secure info/statistics from staff and provide to Chair; Chair will draft letter to be sent to General Assembly members. 8) Review and consider a request by Commissioner McKee that staff provide a timeline and update on the process to address land uses in the Hillsborough EDD and the pending utility agreement. Response:Done- Included as Information Item with 2/7/17 Agenda. 9) Review and consider a request by Commissioner McKee that staff investigate the possibilities of a public/private partnership to move the installation of utilities forward more quickly, with reimbursements to be made thereafter. Response: Staff to follow-up and pursue options. 10)Review and consider a request by Commissioner McKee that staff follows up on previous petition by Chair Dorosin regarding the election method for the BOCC and plan for Board work session discussion, and that the Board consider a uniform district nomination/district election method. Response: To be addressed as part of March 28, 2017 Board work session. 11)Review and consider a request by Commissioner Burroughs that the Manager and staff compile information on the federal dollars received by each department.
