SUBJECT: Request from Commissioners on January 24, 2017 BOCC. meeting
regarding status and path forward on Hillsborough EDD utility service
agreement and future utility infrastructure
A draft of the interlocal utility service agreement with the Town of Hillsborough has been
reviewed by the attorney's office as of January 26, 2017. Discussion and ensuring edits
will be made the week of January 30th for eventual distribution and discussion purposes
only with Hillsborough staff.
We expect review to advance in time for consensus discussion at the joint meeting with
Hillsborough on February 23, 2017. After which the agreement could be placed on the
BOCC agenda for March 7, 2017.
The RFQ for engineering and design services will be concurrent with these activities. A
CIP program has been approved for this anticipated work with later programmed
monies earmarked for the FY 17/18 budget. The attached timeline illustrates the path
forward. Staff will be able to refine this draft schedule when the design engineer is hired.
