PURPOSE: Ta consider making a new appointment to the Orange County Board of Adjustment.
BACKGROUND: The term of Ted Triebel, as the Orange County Planning Board
representative on the Board of Adjustment expired on 3/31/2006. The Planning Board is
recommending that Jeff Schmitt be appointed to that position. Currently, Mr. Schmitt serves on
the Board of Adjustment in an alternate position.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION(S): Oonsider making one new appointment to the Orange County Board of
Adjustment.

At the repent Planning Board meeting, the Planning Board decided that it would like to have Jeff Schmitt "appointed" as
the Planning Board rep to the Board of Adjustment. Also, Craufurd Goodwin and Renee Pripe-Saunders would like to
be appointed as the PB representative to the Hillsborough-OC Strategic Growth Committee (following the meeting,
however, Renee told Craig that she would not like to be on the committee, and that Craufurd could have the position.
We have not received a formal note from her regtaesting this, however, which we requested) Do these positions need to
be formally appointed by the BOCC (at a meeting), or are they informal appointments?
