The Board of Health is recommending Dr, Anissa Vines to serve in the position that Dr. White is vacating, If appointed, Dr. Vines will be serving her first full term, ending 6/30/2009. Matthew Vizithum, the optomehist representative on the Boazd will be completing his fast term on .Tune .3Q 2006 and is eligible and willing to be reappointed for a second term. Sharon Freeland is completing a partial term of service on .Tune 34, 2006 and is willing and eligible to be reappointed to her first full term of service.. She serves in an at-large position. Her expertise as an epidemiologist has been very valuable to the Board. The Boazd cazefully considered all current applicants that qualify for the at-lazge position and are recommending for your consideration Dr. Anissa Vines for appointment to the Boazd of Health, Dr. Vines is an epidemiologist working on health disparity issues. She is African-American and resides in northern Orange County, Her skills as an epidemiologist will be an important resource to the Board and the Department in its work to reduce disparities, in outbreak investigations, and in preparing the required community assessment.
