PURPOSE: Ta consider making one appointment to the Unified Transportation Board,
BACKGROUND: The Unified Transportation Advisory Board's charge is as follows:
• Advise BOCC and provide information and comments on major transportation issues in the
County:
• Provide recommendations regarding overall planning and programming of transportation
improvements in the County:
• Assist in development and review of transportation component of the Comprehensive Plan:
• Provide recommendations to BOCC on Federal and State legislation affecting transportation
in Orange County;
The Unified Transportation Advisory Board positions for Cheeks and Hillsborough Township
remain unfilled, Ms. Pascale Mittendorf has applied for this board and she lives in the
Hillsborough Township.

I have a great interst in supporting community efforts to improve the environment for
diverse individuals. In both employment and volunteer positions, I have worked with
community organizations representing diverse communities and have made inclusion of
such activities an important part of my career and personal focus. I believe in the
fundamental right of all people to have full access to public services, employment and
living opportunities, and individual dignity. I also believe it takes individuals dedicated to
ensuring there is a safe place for those who experience discrimination to turn to in order
to help resolve specific situations and to create a broader community climate of
acceptance.
I am also very intersted in participating on the Orange County Board of Health. Although
the current vacant position is for a veterinarian, should a position for an at-large member
