Members present Chairman R. J. td, Hobbs, Commissioners Edwin Lanier, Dwight r Ray and Henry 5, tiniker. Members absent Commissioner Sim h. Efland. h;r, Donald Hagman, of the Ins tltute of Government was also present at ~-- the request of the Board. Salary increases above the second step established Por each class of positions shall be granted only in ~- recognition of superior or Smpraved performance. Each department head shall be responsible for determing which employees are performing superior service and are to receive earned salary increments. Beginning with Suly 1, 1955, the Board of County Commissioners in Sts discretioa may make funds available in any fiscal year for earned salary increments to employees for step increased 2rom step !r`2 and above in their respective nay scale. Before becoming effective the earned salary increment must be approved by the Board of County Commissioners. Ordinarily, salary increments wl ll be limited to one established pay range step. Transfer. Demotion and Dismissal. Each department head shall carefully observe the work en conduct of each employee in his department. Senarat ed Employees Lose Sick LeaveCredi t. Employees who resign or retire, or ere dismissed from County employment, shall not be paid for any accrued sick lases and shell lose all accrued sick leave credit Civil Leave, A County employee who is called for jury duty or as a witness 'or the Federal or State governments, or a subdivision thereof, shall be entitle o leave rri th pay far such duty during the required absence.
