CommissSoner'e room, members prey ant Chairman ft. J. ~. Hobbs, Comma se toners
Sim L. Efland, Edwin Lanier, Dwight Ray and Henrg Walker. Members absent none.
Minutes for the mee tinge held oa July 5th, 22nd and 26th ware recd by the
~'- Clerk and approved by the Hoard.
L. IIpoa motion of Commissioner Walker, seconded by Commissioner Lanier, it was
ordered that the County Accountant take the sec eeeary ataps to see that acreene
ware purchased and Snetal,i ed Por the 18 windows and 2 doors of the basement
offices of the new courthouse. Commiselonera Walker, Lanier and Rag voting in
the affirmative, Commissioner ffiland voted in the negative,
Represents tlvee of White Oak Church requested that the Board Furnish
grevele for the Cnrr Road in Cedar Grove Township as there was to be an
Aesoci,tfonal meeting held at the Church is the near future, The Board
referred the repr ea entativea to Mr. C. I, Walters, Highway Sput.

unanimously passed, it wen agreeded that the Bar As sociatlon could purchase
and install sa air conditioning unit Sa the vault oP the Register of Deeds
oPPice so long sa said unit did not protrude from the vault windows or mar the
apperance oP said office.
IIpon motion of Comma eaioaer Leaser, seconded by Commies ioner Walker, and
unanimously passed, the_County Accountant was authorized to proceed with
ne6gotatfona with the local government commlaeSon connerning the sale of the
^Pjl}o, 000,00 of school improvement bonds.
The Board agreed to inspect a road petition submitted by M. L. Carver.
IIpoa motion of Commisa loner Efland, seconded by Commis sinner Lanier, and
unanimously passed, the fol.lowing men were named to the Chapel H111 Pleasing
Hoard, their terms effective July 1, 1955=

The County Accountant was requea tad to inform these meat of their
appointment to the Above mentioned Boards,
Sherriff Odell Clayton, and Edwin Lynch, Clerk of Court, and Mra. Sue
Pope appeared in behalf oP the new position Mre. Pope is to occupy Sh the
Sherrlff'e office, They were SmPOrmed that the salary Por said poaf tine
would be determined at the completion of the fob else sificatlon program
which is now under way, and that Mrs. Pope would be responsible to Mr. Lynch
for administrative work and to BherrifP Clayton for funetlonal work,
Mr. Lynch submitted hie regular monthly Recorder's Court record,

Chairman oP the Hoard of Commie slonera, the Solicitor and the Clerk of Court
besakad to study the list oP unpaid Recorder's Court costa and Pines
appearing on file S.n the Cl.erk'e office sad Prom eai.d list to delete those
ol.d Recorder's Court Pines and-costa where St is evident that sa1.d Pines and
coats can not be collected, Said committee is then to recommend to the
Board the number of cue ee they feel should be deleted,

unanimously passed Mr, Lynch, Clerk of Court, was authorized to make a
compl.ete'eeparation of the Recorder's Court and Superior Covrt bookkeeping
and accounting eyateme, this to be effeative July 1, 1955•
IIpoa motion of Commies loner ffiland, seconded by Commies ioner Ray, and
unanimously passed, Mr, Lyacti, Sam Gattie and Tom Hrafford, Auditor, are
authorized to employ additional temporary help after the completion of the
separation of the bookkeeping system in the Clerk's office, so that the
bookke aping can ba brought up to date is the Clerk's office. Mr. Lynch
Se to report to the Hoard at the September meeting of the plane which nave
been made coacerniag this matter.

Dpoa motion of Commi seloner Lanier, seconded by Commissioner Efland, and
unanimous ly passed the Following ras olution was adopted:
"1, The County Dog Warden may impound a lost or stray dog
for a period of not more than seven (~j days,
2, The County Dog Warden by request or consent of the
owner of said dog may dispose of a dog immediately,
3, Dogs suspected of rabid moat be confined by the
County Dog Warden the length oP time es required by
law,"
Mr. Paul Ranson, County Attorney, Ss to report to the Board at the.
September meeting about the appointment of a Fire District Commies ion and the
duti ea which would concern said Board.
The Commies ionera sera asked by Chairman Hobbs _to make a list oP names
of persona from the Chagel Hill area and from said list a Fire District
Commieaion would be appointed, '
Hugh Wilson appeared and spoke Sn behalf of sereena Por the Health
Department and on several other ltema which he was pereonal.ly concerned about
Sn the County Government.
