BACKGROUND: The following information is for Board consideration: • Appointment to a partial term (position #1) "Mebane Extraterritorial Jurisdiction" for Keith Hoover expiring 06/30/2019. L,.., , oF mk.,..0 4 (f ' ' 41110.* RESOLUTION MAKING A RECOMMENDATION TO THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS REGARDING THE ETJ SEAT ON THE CITY OF MEBANE PLANNING BOARD WHEREAS,the Orange County Board of Commissioners has a resolution regarding the Orange County Appointment and Orientation Process for Boards and Commissions that specifies "...When a vacancy exists, the municipality will be requested to provide to the Board of County Commissioners a resolution with a recommendation for that vacancy," and WHEREAS,the City of Mebane staff has reviewed the viable applications and made a recommendation to the City of Mebane Council. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Mebane that the Council recommends the Orange County Board of Commissioners appoint Keith Hoover to the City of Mebane Planning Board ETJ position. The fact that I ve not been in the building/develoopment sector will allow me to bring an objective voice to this board and the hearing of special requests/zoning exceptions. Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: I think it is very important for Orange County to be represented in the activities undertaken by Mebane and to join with Mebane to grow this area effectively and responsibly. This area is very desirable for business and residents and we need to make sure development is done equitably and with our common purpose.
