EMS Transport Considerations
The following items should be considered in any discussions about emergency transportation as part
of the county's emergency medical services program.
• Options for transportation
o Continue contract with Squad
o Contract with private agency
o Initiate in-house County operated transport system (including the addition of permanent
and/or temporary County staff to operate system)
o Some approach that blends the above options
• Ensure high level of patient care during transport
• County's cost of transportation component
