This contract includes gutter replacement at the Historic Courthouse, and installation of new LCC downspouts and RT300 snow guards. During the removal of the existing gutters deterioration of the corner fascia board and cornice was discovered. This deterioration appeared to be caused by water intrusion. On December 2, 2016 a site meeting was held to review deterioration of the southeast corner fascia board. Orange County staff and 5th Wall Building Diagnostics Consultant reviewed the deteriorated wood and determined that repairs would be required prior to the new gutter installation. Orange County requested pricing from Pickard Roofing for the following work: • Remove a portion of the existing soffit/fascia at the southeast corner of the building — approximately 8 feet northward from the corner and approximately 6 feet westward. ♦ Removal will allow for examination of the joists and other support structure as well as provide samples of the various shapes needed for reconstruction of the soffit/fascia. • Order 100 linear feet of each shape with excess materials to be stored on site for future use. Shapes to be fabricated from South American mahogany. ♦ This includes potential materials for repairs to the west wall of the courthouse during the gutter replacement and snow guard installation. • Provide additional scaffolding for repairs and inspections • Remove a portion of the existing soffit/fascia at the southwest corner of the building — approximately 2 feet northward from the corner and approximately 2 feet eastward. On December 20, 2016 Pickard Roofing provided a proposal to cover the cost for the additional scaffolding and repairs to the soffit/fascia boards per the above listed scope of work. 5th Wall Building Diagnostics Consultant for Orange County reviewed the proposals and made recommendations for the Pickard Roofing proposals to be submitted with "not to exceed" amount of $33,881.25. This pricing is to cover additional scaffolding for a total of(56) days, and repairs to the soffit/fascia boards. Dear Angel, Please find below the pricing for adding a 5'x7' scaffolding tower with brackets at the south east corner of the historic court house to accommodate the woodwork needed in that area. Said extension will be then moved to the south west corner for similar needs. $4,565.00 for the first 28 days and $565.00 for each additional 28 days. Also, here is the extra woodwork quote from Mulberry Building Company LLC: Per our site visit two weeks ago, December 2, 2016, I have developed a price to accommodate the scope of repair. The quote includes all materials specified as South American mahogany for all moulding and fascia components with an additional 100 ft of each moulding for later repairs to be stored, at Orange County's discretion. All moulding used will be front and back primed with a shellac based primer, top coated in place with two coats of Sherwin Williams paint. Labor is estimated at 5 working days for 2 carpenters. I have arrived at a price of$11,731.75. Please note, this price only includes SE corner repair and no additional scaffolding. The moulding will be cut back to no less than 8ft on the larger crown and no less than 48 inches on the lower radius, in an aesthetically pleasing proportion. This quote includes all materials specified as South American mahogany for all moulding. All moulding used will be front and back primed with a shellac based primer, top coated in place with two coats of Sherwin Williams paint. Please note the moulding will be cut back no less than 4ft. on the larger crown and no less than 4ft. on the eve, in an aesthetically pleasing proportion. The soffit will be rebuilt with an inset panel detail. The cost of this repair is $7,495.00 In order to avoid another extra expense on the scaffolding due to court delays, we would like to get a fairly quick response so we can execute this work asap starting this weekend(Feb. 24-25) and have all the work completed by mid week.
