Dear Comrades,
At the Board's March 7, 2017 regular meeting,petitions were brought forth which were reviewed by the
Chair/Vice Chair/Manager Agenda team. The petitions and responses are listed below:
1) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Jacobs that staff provide Board members with the
letter that Hillsborough sent Orange County Schools about residential development and schools.
Response: Letter to be pursued and provided.
2) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Rich that the County pursue partnering with Orange
County Schools on developing an old school bus as an internet"hot spot"to provide service to rural
areas of the County.
Response: County staff to contact Orange County Schools' staff.
3) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Rich, echoed by Commissioner Marcoplos, that
County staff be provided Racial Equity Training opportunities.
Response: Staff to investigate options to provide training.
4) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Dorosin that Cornelius Street be added to the Economic
Development Review activities.
Response:Adding Cornelius Street is in process.
5) Review and consider request by Commissioner Dorosin that staff contact the Sheriff to inquire if he is
willing to discontinue use of license check points.
Response: Manager to contact Sheriff.
