MEMORANDUM
TO: BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION MEMBERS
PLANNING BOARD MEMBERS
FROM: JOHN LINK, COUNTY MANAGER
VIA PAM JONES, PURCHASING DIRECTOR
DATE: MAY 10, 1989
RE: AIRPORT SITE WORK SESSION
The airport work session set during the May 1 Commissioner's
meeting, will be held in the Superior Courtroom on May 15
beginning at 6:00 p.m.
This work session is intended to bring the Commissioners
together with the EDC and Planning Board members to review
the revised matrix and discuss it 's application to the
sites retained for further study. While the Consultants will
make brief comments about the matrix, the primary focus will
be to receive comments from the various Boards and Commission
members.
An ad hoc committee composed of the Chair and Vice-Chair of
the Board of Commissioners, and the Chairs of the EDC and the
Planning Board, met on May 8 to discuss the criteria as
suggested by the Consultants. The committee suggested minor
modifications in the weighting given to access time as well
• as suggested adding the category titled "Proximity to
Compatible Land Use for Economic Development". Other than
those changes, the Consultant's interpretation of input from
all sources seemed accurately reflected in the matrix.
We are enclosing a copy of the matrix for your review.
Please bring your comments and/or questions to the
May 15 meeting.
