PURPOSE: To consider approval of modifications to the BOCC Rules of Procedure.
BACKGROUND: The Board of Commissioners adopted its "Rules of Procedure for the Board
of County Commissioners" in May, 2002. Multiple amendments have been made since that
time. At the February 16, 2017 BOCC Work Session, the Board discussed changing the order
of agenda items for regular meetings, under Rule 10, Order of Business, as follows:
1. Additions or Changes to the Agenda
Public Charge
2. Public Comments (Limited to One Hour)
3. Announcements, Petitions and Comments by Board Members (Three Minute Limit Per
Commissioner)
4. Proclamations/Resolutions/Special Presentations
5. Regular Agenda
6. Public Hearings
7. Reports
8. Consent Agenda
• Removal of Items from Consent Agenda
• Approval of Remaining Consent Agenda
• Discussion and Approval of the Items Removed from the Consent Agenda
9. County Manager's Report
10. County Attorney's Report
11. * Appointments
12. Information Items
13. Closed Session
14. Adjournment

FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with this item.
SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There is no Orange County Social Justice Goal applicable to this
item.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve changes to the
Rules of Procedure.
