PURPOSE: To consider one change in the County Commissioners' regular meeting calendar
for year 2006.
BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County
Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in
the Regular Meeting Schedule.
Currently, the Commissioners' regular meeting calendar for Thursday, February 16th has a
scheduled 5:30 p.m.. dinner meeting with an advisory board (which was changed to January 3151
with the Board of Health), therefore leaving this time slot available.
The Board of County Commissioners is asked to consider (for Thursday, February 16th at
Southern Human Services Center):
• adding a work session on district elections and school equity , from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m.
• dinner from 6:30-7:30 pm
• regularly scheduled work -session --7:30pm-10:00 pm -
FINANCIAL IMPACT: NONE
RECOMMENDATION (S): The Manager recommends that the Board amend their regular
meeting on Thursday, February 16, 2006:
• adding a work session on district elections and school equity, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m.
• dinner from 6:30-7:30 pm
• regularly scheduled work -session --7:30pm-10:00pm
