PURPOSE: To propose a schedule of events to follow up the recent
public hearing on the county' s proposed civil rights ordinance .
BACKGROUND: The Board of Commissioners held a public hearing to
receive public comment on the county' s proposed civil rights
ordinance on Tuesday, September 14, 1993 . The following schedule
is recommended as follow up.
RECOMMENDATION(S) : The Manager recommends that the Board of
Commissioners approve the proposed schedule.

PROPOSED SCHEDULE TO FOLLOW UP CIVIL RIGHTS ORDINANCE HEARING
1 . On Monday, October 11 , the Human Relations Commission will
discuss public comment received at the September 14 public
hearing and consider any changes to the proposed civil rights
ordinance.
2 . On Tuesday, October 19, the Board of Commissioners will
receive the Human Relations Commission comments as a report
at their regularly scheduled meeting.
3 . On Monday, November 1 , the Board of Commissioners will
discuss any changes they may wish to make in the proposed
ordinance. The Board will then set a date to adopt the
ordinance.
